Table A: Selected Characteristics of Active Local Chiropractors Enumerated in Health Manpower Survey by Survey Year (1996 - 2024) In the 1996 Health Manpower Survey, 27 chiropractors were covered and 24 active chiropractors were enumerated. Among the 24 active chiropractors enumerated, 23 were male and one was female. Their sex ratio was 2300 male active chiropractors enumerated per 100 female active chiropractors enumerated. Their mean age was 43.0. All the 24 active chiropractors enumerated worked in the private sector. In the 2000 Health Manpower Survey, 48 chiropractors were covered and 38 active chiropractors were enumerated. Among the 38 active chiropractors enumerated, 33 were male and five were female. Their sex ratio was 660 male active chiropractors enumerated per 100 female active chiropractors enumerated. Their mean age was 42.9 and median age was 43.0. All the 38 active chiropractors enumerated worked in the private sector. In the 2004 Health Manpower Survey, 71 chiropractors were covered and 42 active chiropractors were enumerated. Among the 42 active chiropractors enumerated, 33 were male and nine were female. Their sex ratio was 367 male active chiropractors enumerated per 100 female active chiropractors enumerated. Their mean age was 43.7 and median age was 44.0. All the 42 active chiropractors enumerated worked in the private sector. In the 2005 Health Manpower Survey, 84 chiropractors were covered and 56 active chiropractors were enumerated. Among the 56 active chiropractors enumerated, 43 were male and 13 were female. Their sex ratio was 331 male active chiropractors enumerated per 100 female active chiropractors enumerated. Their mean age was 41.6 and median age was 39.0. Among the 56 active chirpractors enumerated, 55 (98.2%) worked in the private sector and 1 (1.8%) did not reveal the sector of work. In the 2006 Health Manpower Survey, 88 chiropractors were covered and 58 active chiropractors were enumerated. Among the 58 active chiropractors enumerated, 46 were male and 12 were female. Their sex ratio was 383 male active chiropractors enumerated per 100 female active chiropractors enumerated. Their mean age was 42.9 and median age was 40.0. All the 58 active chirpractors enumerated worked in the private sector. In the 2007 Health Manpower Survey, 94 chiropractors were covered and 52 active chiropractors were enumerated. Among the 52 active chiropractors enumerated, 43 were male and nine were female. Their sex ratio was 478 male active chiropractors enumerated per 100 female active chiropractors enumerated. Their mean age was 43.6 and median age was 41.0. All the 52 active chirpractors enumerated worked in the private sector. Notes: 1. Figures of 1996 and 2000 refer to the number of chiropractors reported by the responding institutions as at 1 July of the respective years, whereas the figures of 2004 to 2007, 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018 refer to the number of chiropractors registered with the Chiropractors Council as at 31 August of the respective years. Figures of 2024 refers to the number of chiropractors registered with the Chiropractors Council as at 30 September 2024. 2.
